Shalom brothers and sisters!
I cannot stress enough how important the setting of this cornerstone, the Third Temple in Israel is and how this marks the true prophetic word and its fulfillment concerning the second coming of Jesus.

The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
Ps. 118:22-23

These words are applied by Christ to Himself, as the foundation of the Church. It may here denote God's wondrous exaltation to power and influence of him whom the rulers of the nation despised. Whether David or Zerubbabel be primarily meant, there is here typically represented God's more wonderful doings in exalting Christ, crucified as an impostor, to be the Prince and Saviour and Head of His Church.

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
Matt. 21:42

The stone which the builders rejectedis Messianic prophecy, which reappears in various forms and was made glorious use of by Peter before the Sanhedrin. He recurs to it in his first epistle.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Is. 28:16

Here is a promise of Christ, as the only foundation of hope for escaping the wrath to come. This foundation was laid in Zion, in the eternal counsels of God. This foundation is a stone, firm and able to support his church. It is a tried stone, a chosen stone, approved of God, and never failed any who made trial of it. A corner stone, binding together the whole building, and bearing the whole weight; precious in the sight of the Lord, and of every believer; a sure foundation on which to build.

This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Acts 4:11

The experts, the architects, had rejected Jesus for their building (See above for Ps. 118:22, Matt. 21:42) as Jesus himself had pointed out. This very Rejected Stone God had made the head of the corner (either the highest corner stone right under the roof or the corner stone under the building, Isa. 28:16) as Jesus showed, as Peter here declares and repeats later
(See below 1 Peter 2:6).

To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner.
1 Peter 2:4-7

Those who rejected the Stone were all the while in spite of themselves unconsciously contributing to its becoming Head of the corner. The same magnet has two poles, the one repulsive, the other attractive; so the Gospel has opposite effects on believers and unbelievers respectively.

Christ is the chief Corner-stone, that unites the whole number of believers into one everlasting temple, and bears the weight of the whole fabric. Elected, or chosen, for a foundation that is everlasting. Precious beyond compare, by all that can give worth. To be built on Christ means, to believe in him; but in this many deceive themselves, they consider not what it is, nor the necessity of it, to partake of the salvation he has wrought. Though the frame of the world were falling to pieces, that man who is built on this foundation may hear it without fear. He shall not be confounded.

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Eph. 2:20-22

The costly foundation-stones of the temple typified the same truth. The same stone is at once the corner-stone and the foundation-stone on which the whole building rests. Paul supposes a stone or rock so large and so fashioned as to be both at once; supporting the whole as the foundation, and in part rising up at the extremities, so as to admit of the side walls meeting in it, and being united in it as the corner-stone. As the corner-stone, it is conspicuous, as was Christ, and coming in men's way may be stumbled over, as the Jews did at Christ.

My friends...pray for Israel and the Jewish nation scattered across God's earth. Now is the time to reach the lost at any cost and for the saints, the sons and daughters of God to "be ready!"

In the name of Yeshua haMashiach,
God bless you,
Russ
